✏️ Illustration Is Not About Perfection—It’s About Connection

Why Imperfect Art Speaks Louder?
🎨 Everyone Is an Artist
I believe this with my whole heart:👉 Every person is an artist.
Whether you're doodling, cooking, writing, weaving, or storytelling — if you're creating something with your soul, you are an artist.
💭 The Myth of “Perfect” Art
When I started out, I thought:
Beautiful characters = perfect anatomy
Realistic colors = professional artwork
Accurate perspective = serious artist
But over time, I learned that…
✨ Art is not about how technically correct it is. It’s about how it feels.✨
🌈 The Day I Let Go
Everything shifted when I began:
Participating in art challenges
Drawing just for fun
Ignoring “rules” about proportions and perspective
I started to flow like air, and it felt soothing— especially to my inner child. I wasn’t judging my work anymore. I was enjoying it.

🧸 Cozy Art > Perfect Art
I know some teachers still say:
“The head must be this size”
“The figure should be 8 heads tall”
“Perspective must be accurate”
But now, when I see something too perfect, I pause. Is it AI?
Instead, I love art that’s
✔ Full of texture ✔ Imperfectly scribbled ✔ Cozy and emotional ✔ Visually honest
That’s the art I want to make.

📚 Children’s Book Illustration Is About Connection
We’re not fine artists doing photo-realism. We’re storytellers.
Children’s illustration is:
A depiction, not a diagram
A feeling, not a formula
A voice, not a visual standard
Just like ancient stick figures on cave walls, our job is to communicate clearly— not to mimic reality.
✏️ As long as the message reaches the heart, the job is done.
🤖 What About AI?
Yes, AI is booming. It’s:
Fast
Cost-effective
Popular among non-artists
But it reminds me of something personal. Let me tell you something from my own family: many of my relatives come from a weaving background. When power looms came into the picture, everyone was excited — they were fast, colorful, and could produce so much. But years later, people began searching for authentic handloom sarees again — the ones made slowly, by hand, with love and care. Now, real handloom is rare and more valuable.
The same thing will happen with art.
One day, people will crave the raw, honest, imperfect beauty of handmade art again — whether it’s traditional or digital. That uniqueness, that soul, can’t be replicated.
🛡 I’m Not Afraid of AI
I know AI can’t replace the human soul in our work. And even if I fail to earn a day, I have a family that will support me.
But many illustrators rely on their art for a living. They deserve recognition, not replacement.
Here’s the truth:
🌟 There are clients and publishers who want non-AI art
🌟 There is value in hand-drawn, human-created work
🌟 We must keep showing up, being visible, and standing tall
💖 Just Say: “I Love My Artwork”
If I could say one thing to every illustrator, beginner or professional, it’s this:
Just say: “I love my artwork.”
Don’t compare. Don’t second-guess. Don’t wait for someone to approve.
But because:
It came from your heart 💗
You showed up with courage 🎨
It reflects a part of your soul 🌟
✅ Be proud of what you made. ✅ Be kind to yourself. ✅ Create with joy.
Because that’s what illustration truly means to me.
